South Queensferry harbour - at dusk.
I travelled a short distance to South Queensferry (3 Dec) to take images after the sun set, and was not disappointed. I remember from yesterdays sun set, to wait around to see the colours in the sky after sun set, and if anything was worth an image, I would composes a shot and see how it turned out.
South Queensferry harbour at dusk. (Drone image).
I spent around an hour photographing the bridges before moving to the car park beside this small harbour. I did do a lovely long exposure near the Orocco Pier Hotel, and I got the moon trail in the image, I sort of knew that would be the case, I was really disappointed as the long exposure was so nice, lesson learnt.
This composition was nice I thought with the drone up in the sky, The moon reflection shimmered inside the small harbour wall. The sky was almost clear of clouds, very little wind and the river was pretty calm. You can never get bored of the Forth Bridge. This image is a panorama, two images stitched together in LR, I just moved the drone on its axis to get this shot manually, you can do a panorama image in the drone settings, but I prefer doing those type of shots manually.
What’s next? (Before I forget, sorry for not uploading images over the past two to three months.) I would just love to go to Rannoch Moor during freezing conditions and capture the frozen lochs and the trees. I have driven past the location several times, and really need to see its beauty during the golden hours, a sun rise or sun set type of image would be nice, and do a few panos or still images. I’ll keep an eye out on the weather forecast. Before then I mag get some images of the stars. I know a few locations not too far away where there is little night pollution. I need to plan this in advance, and make sure my battery’s are fully charged as during the cold, the battery drains fast.
