Wedding Photography!
Hand-fasting during the wedding ceremony.
Yesterday I had the privilege to be a Wedding Photographer in Dundee. I really enjoyed it, and prepared as best as I could for the Bride and Groom. I knew the Bride and Groom from my work, and had three or four meetings with them, two months before their big day.
During our meetings we discussed when and where they were getting married, when the ceremony started, what type of images they would like, and how they wanted the images to be presented to them. This was just the start of our conversation. I showed the couple images of what I done before and they were happy what they have seen.
Before their big day, I went to the place where they were getting married to look at the building, and the inside (look at the light), I also looked at the park to see where I could take more images of the Bride and Groom, Bridal Party, and the family and guests.
I went home and compiled a list, and kept this list in my pocket as a cheat sheet/reminder of what images I need to capture. the basic photo list;
Bride outside the building
Bride walking to the alter
Bride and Groom reaction
Rings
First Kiss
Signing the register
Bride and Groom walking out of the room
Bride and groom leaving the building, outside images, confetti
Bridal Party
Flower Girls and Page Boy
Bride/Groom with Best Lady
All the ladies
All the Men
Candid shots
Family and guests in the park
Bride and groom in the park
I used two camera bodies, a Nikon D5100, and a Sony A6000. The lens on the Nikon was a 18-105mm 3,5-5.6, and the lens on the Sony was a Sony 50mm 1.8 prime lens. Those lenses did a good job to be honest during the day. I used 128gb SD cards on both cameras and had spare SD cards and Battery’s for both camera bodies.
The next part, this week is to sort out what images I will edit in Light Room, and give them to the Bride and Groom on Tuesday 12th of August, as they now are away on their Honeymoon.
This will be the most important part of their wedding. I will take my time to compile their images, and they will eventually put the images into a wedding photo album.
